Rakhi Bandhan: As an attempt to unify people against British imperialists engaged in dividing Bengal on the basis of religion, the great poet Tagore called upon the masses of the province to tie rakhis (amulet/talisman) on each other’s wrists as a symbolic gesture of friendship. The day was 16th October 1905. Reminding the day our organisation in association with other cultural troupes held a rally on the same day of this year 2022. Rallies start from the birthplace of Rabindranath (‘Thakurbari’ at Jorasanko, Kolkata) and ends at Nakhoda Masjid, Chitpur, Kolkata. Thousands of people of various community participated in the colourful procession

The Association started its journey on 16th February 1972, when normal day-to-day life of the people of this province was going through a suffocating environment under state terror, which had never been experienced by them in the post-independence period.
